RyanAgee{DOT}Com About Ryan Contact me Activity Members search skip to content ↓ RyanAgee{DOT}Com Welcome to Ryan Agee's blog Home Computers, Networking, and Software Severe Weather The Gospel Uncategorized Wildlife & Conservation Blast from the Past: AOL Punters and Progz by Ryan Agee on May.09, 2011, under Computers, Networking, and Software Notice: This is educational and for information purposes only. Please do not attempt to contact the owner of this site to trade AOL Punters or Progz. AOL Punter and Progz are no longer working for the new versions of AOL. Thank you for respecting this notice. America Online (AOL) has been around since 1983 as Control Video Corporation, later 1989, their service name have changed to America Online. America Online offers internet capability, instant messaging, and chatrooms. You can read more about AOL which can be found here: Wikipedia Now let’s go back in the past. Do you remember AOL Punters? Proggies? MMers? Servers? Anti Punters? During the old days of AOL 2.5-6.0? Did you get to have fun punting people off AOL or sending fake TOSers to people? Well, I was a kid back then and I had fun. But, however, I got my share of termination from AOL (under my parents names that is). I remember back in the day, when I got an email from a kid who wanted to start up his crew. So, I joined and created True Killaz. True Killaz did not survive long enough and it went defunct. Let me explain what is a punter and what is a proggie for those people may forgot or never been on AOL in their entire life. Punter: Also known as an Instant Message (IM) bomber, the punter would allow a person to select the AOL user that they wanted to “punt” offline and use IMs to attack. Once the user to be punted was selected, the user would activate the punter and the program would send numerous IMs to the user to be punted at a very fast rate. This would be coupled to known HTML codes in the IM messages which would freeze the attacked person’s computer or cause an AOL error, forcing the attacked user to log off AOL. Progz or Proggie: A program with a list of features like Mass Mailer (MMer), Anti-Punter capability, Phisher, Mail Bomber, IM bomber, Fake Forwarder, Botz (examples: Momma Disser Bot, Voter Bot, and ToSer bot), Warez Server, and still more to list. Servers: A program that has a capability to send a warez list via AOL email and you reply back a number in the AOL server chatroom and it sends the warez files or some legit files. AOL Punters and Progz were popular back in the old days. They were illegal to use under AOL’s Terms of Service. When these punters and progz were popular, it been a target by hackers and virus (virii) writers. They will create their own punter programs and make it as a password stealer so they can steal AOL users’ screen names and password info. Others will go further as in creating a trojan horse and fool anybody who uses punters or proggies as a punter but installs a regular password stealer program. Anyways, I have successfully found these old programs off the internet and I managed to create screenshots of them. Below are the screen shots of the examples of a punter and a proggie. Enjoy these screenshots and be safe on the Net. Punters Proggies 1 Comment more... Got good habits or bad habits? Here’s God’s word based on Habits.. by Ryan Agee on Dec.03, 2010, under The Gospel Hello, today, I will be explaining to you what’s God say about habits. These words are from the Holy Bible, however, I’m using Touchpoints for Men – God’s Answers for your daily needs, and hopefully this could be use for the general public – Men and Women and the Youth. So, the first and for most, the question is ‘How can I pass good habits to my family? All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. (1 Corinthians 9:25) Teach [God’s words] to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up. (Deuteronomy 11:19) Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. (1 Timothy 4:12) When we make God part of our daily lives, we will have a more godly example to pass on. How do we deal with bad habits? I don’t understand myself at all, for I really want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do the very thing I hate. (Romans 7:15) Have you every felt this way? Paul reveals to us one of the best ways to deal with bad habits – recognize them for what they are and confess them honestly. Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you. (1 John 2:15) Breaking a bad habit can be hard, because we are losing something we like. But losing a bad habit brings the deeper joy that we are doing what is pleasing to God. Let heaven fill your thoughts. (Colossians 3:2) It will be much easier to break bad habits if we replace them with good habits. How do we develop good habits? Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do. (Hebrews 10:25) Meeting together as believers develops the habit of group Bible study, it keeps us busy when we might otherwise be slipping into bad habits, and it offers an accountability group. The LORD is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust in him with all my heart….I burst in songs of thanksgiving. As young boy, David developed the habit of talking to God, singing songs about him, and writing psalms. This helped him to trust in and follow God all his life. Don’t you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval. We daily stand at the crossroads, choosing sinful ways or God’s way – the choice is ours. Promise from God: Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. (Romans 8:5-6) Prayer: Dear Father God, I ask of you to bring the Holy Spirit to control my mind. Provide me strength and wisdom, so I can break bad habits. I lift all my bad habits to You and I am in Your hands. Through you Lord, I will develop good habits, so I can rejoice in your name and obey, trust, and follow you. I seek to receive your approval. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Leave a Comment more... How to live a balance life? by Ryan Agee on Oct.25, 2010, under The Gospel Romans 13:14 - Let the Lord Jesus Christ control of you, and don’t think of ways to indulge your evil desires. Romans 8:6 - If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace. When we let Christ have control of our lives, he will help us to bring everything into balance, giving us life and peace. Psalm 37:34 - Don’t be impatient for the LORD to act! Travel steadily along his path. Trusting God in everything helps us keep our lives in balance. Proverbs 12:3 - Wickedness never brings stability; only the godly have deep roots. Living a godly life in harmony with God’s will gives us the stability we long for. Luke 3:14 - “What should we do?” asked some soldiers. John replied, “Don’t extort money…And be content with your pay.” 1 Timothy 6:6-9 - True religion with contentment is great wealth… So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. Hebrews 13:5 - Be satisfied with what you have. Often imbalance comes into our lives when we become discontented with what we have. Contentment gives us freedom. 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 - I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step. I am not like a boxer who misses his punches. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. When we fully understand what work God has given us to do, we can focus on that and remove distractions that throw our lives out of balance. PROMISE FROM GOD: James 1:25 – If you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law – the law that sets you free – and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. This has been obtained from Touchpoints for Men – God’s answer for your daily needs. While I use this book, God’s Word are meant to spread through out the Internet and from Human-to-Human. God bless! Oct 25th early morning storm ( 6 a.m.) by Ryan Agee on Oct.25, 2010, under Severe Weather At 5:58 a.m, I was asleep, a flash of lightning woke me up, I was pondering what kind of flash was it. But, there, again, another flash of lightning, I stumble over to look at my weather radio, a tornado warning as been issued in my area. I know my weather radio will make a loud alarm that will wake me up, however, I’m deaf, I don’t hear a thing. That will not be a good idea for not hearing the alarm or a tornado siren. I jump out of bed and put on my hearing aid and I did not even hear a tornado siren. So, I watched out the window, it was raining hard and heavily. I pull up my radar application called Radar Scope for iPhone, and I see this ugly storm moving across the south-eastern area. Here is an image of both the radar and the warning information: So, far, there were no tornado sirens at all. The tornado went through Hickory Valley Rd, Highway 58, Ootlewah, and Cleveland. However, the Storm Prediction Center has not label the cause of the damage caused by a tornado, it was caused by a severe thunder storm winds. What classified a severe thunderstorm winds is 70+ mph. It was a crazy weather at 6 a.m. Later, a friend told me that it was on the news, the news outlets are saying it was a tornado and heavy severe thunderstorm winds, and there was power outages across Hwy 58 and Ootlewah, and damages around there, including downed power lines and trees. However, I have not been blogging lately and it has been a while. So, I’m going to start blogging things and hopefully it gets interesting. Take care! Social networks and kids: How young is too young? by Ryan Agee on Nov.07, 2009, under Computers, Networking, and Software (CNN) — Status updates, photo tagging and FarmVille aren’t just for adults or even teenagers anymore. Researchers say a growing number of children are flouting age requirements on sites such as Facebook and MySpace, or using social-networking sites designed just for them. Facebook and MySpace require users to be at least 13. But they have no practical way to verify ages, and many young users pretend to be older when signing up. (Read more at CNN). My opinion is really simple….I do not want children at the age of 12 and under to be on Facebook or MySpace. It increases the risk of children to be preyed by sex offenders and pedophiles. However, 13 and above are still children and they are also at risk and parents shall continue to monitor their children’s internet activity and Facebook and MySpace have revamp their security measures by allowing an individual to protect their privacy. I will be making a list of internet filtering softwares and you can try them out. Feel free to leave a comment thanks. Leave a Comment :facebook, internet safety, myspace, social networks more... Avira Anti Vir Premium 9.0 by Ryan Agee on Aug.25, 2009, under Computers, Networking, and Software Hello, welcome back again. Today, I will be talking about Avira Anti-Vir Premium 9.0. However, I do know there is a free version of Avira Anti-Vir Personal but I would like to try out the commerical version of Avira Anti-Vir Premium. Anyways, let’s begin and start the first thing to the end. First of all, I would like to start with the load up timing. Whenever I boot up my system into Windows, I noticed it just takes about 30 seconds for the Avira AntiVir’s real-time resident to load up and it did a little bit on hogging on my 1 GB RAM memory and however I had a minor problem with Avira Anti Vir Premium. It found false positives that was belonging to a WXSpots real-time reporting weather software and I had to email the author to let him know however the new version of 2.3 had not trigger an anti-virus alert and I had to use some anti-malware software to see if any detection available, so far, none. WXSpots is a clean and virus-free and malware-free. In the future, I will be making a post about WXSpots and how it is an useful tool for Skywarn spotters, NWS employees, and weather enthusiasts. Second of all, I would like to talk about their updating behavior stance. Whenever the Avira Anti-Vir Premium updates the virus definitions, there have not been any rebooting of the system in order for the updates to install effectively. However, I have noticed the Avira Anti-Vir Premium has been updating constantly and that is good for a computer to stay healthy. Third, I would like to explain about Avira Anti Vir Premium’s GUI. I have navigate around from option to option easily well and It is recognizable and very user-friendly. I really like their interface it included from an overview of status, like showing when a virus definition is out dated and when the last time you scanned your system, it was pretty useful information, however, it also include reports and events. Reports are when you scan the system and it logs info of the time, date, how many files it scanned, how many viruses & malware it detected, and the successfully installed updates or failed update that has not been installed. Events will show what’s wrong with the antivirus and will inform you if a resident scanner had failed to load or an update has not been installed or ensure that the scheduler is working properly. Ok, moving on in the GUI settings, there are settings where you can go and do a scan of your system and there’s an administration part where you can check the scheduler and ensure that it will execute a scan at a certain time, however, in the administration section you can visit the quarantine, where all the bad viruses will be located safely from harm’s way. Well, is that pretty simple and user friendly for other users to maintain this antivirus?? Well, I think the same way, very user friendly and simple and to the point of handling the antivirus software. Well, moving on to how fast does this scanner goes…. How fast does this scanner actually scan the whole HDD. My last scan was 8/19/2009 and it scanned 641,316 files and 14,253 directories (folders) and the time I started scanning was 22:27 (that’s 10:27PM) and it has been scanning for 116:01 minutes. However, it took 29 minutes and 54 seconds to scan my virus collection, 50,767 files infected were detected by Anti-Vir out of 81,081 virus files (That is 30,314 virus files that has failed to detect by Avira). However, my stats are based in my opinion and if you are curious how accurate the scanning identification goes, you should take a look at www.virusbtn.com, which has a larger virus collection than mine that they scan and make accurate reports. Whenever a virus is found, the scanner will attempt to rename, or delete or quarantine the infected file(s). Finally, I love how the Avira Anti-Vir turn out to be, and it is user-friendly and simple. I would recommend this software depending on what the person wants. The cost of a single license for one computer is 19.95 euro ($28.52 USD), as for 3 licenses for 3 computers, the cost will be 71.41 and it includes VAT. I would like to include that Avira Anti-Vir Premium is certified by independent testing organizations, and they are Virus Bulletin and ICSA Labs. Here is the link to Avira’s Anti-Vir Premium: Click here. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and check back for more interesting topics. Thank you and God bless! Leave a Comment more... CA Anti-Virus 2009 by Ryan Agee on Jul.28, 2009, under Computers, Networking, and Software Welcome back! I am going to start a thread on Computer Associates (CA) Anti-Virus 2009. CA Antivirus 2009 is a part of the CA Internet Security 2009 software. Since I have yet to install everything that CA Internet Security 2009 has, I instead installed CA Anti-Virus 2009 and its a trial version that expires in 90 days. First of all, I would like to start with the load up timing. Whenever I boot up my system into Windows, I noticed it just takes about 15-20 seconds for the antivirus’ real-time resident to load up and it did not hog on my memory resources unlike Symantec Antivirus products does and I have a minor problem with CA Anti-Virus 2009 and it found false positives that was belonging to a windows system files and I had to replace the missing files by typing in the command prompt: sfc /scannow and after going through a step by step instructions, I’m back on my feet and the CA Anti-Virus 2009 has not detect the problem again. Secondly, I would like to talk about their updating behavior stance. Whenever the CA Antivirus 2009 updates its virus definitions pretty well without rebooting the system but when it updates its program, it tends to disable the real-time resident program until you restart the system. I didn’t like that, because I live with my parents and my mom is not computer literate and will not realize the antivirus real-time resident program was disable until the computer has to reboot. So, since it increased a slight risk for an infection, well, that’s only if my own mother is careful! Third, I would like to discuss the CA Antivirus’ GUI interface. I have navigate around from option to option easily well. Its recognizable and very user-friendly. The GUI interface is like a portal of information, it includes information on the last update and the current virus definition, the signals that email scanner, real-time protection are operational, and the TOP 5 threats and the latest threats information that are currently out in the Cyberverse. This is useful when an end-user will recognize new threats and they will be able to learn from them and to be aware of these emerging threats that may pose a risk to their computers and networks in the future. Not forgetting, there are options that let you view the quarantine area and the reports. These are useful for end-user to check out if any threats were logged and been put into quarantine. Forth, the antivirus software has a fast scanning technology it takes an hour to scan my entire system, but I was only selected it to only scan common file extensions and the antivirus have the ability to scan compressed (archives) files in variety of formats. Before you scan the system, you can check out the Options and you can select to clean or quarantine or leave it blank and have the results logged in the reports. If you choose both clean and quarantine, the scanner will have the ability to attempt to clean, if failed to clean, it will quarantine the file. I don’t know why I elaborating that info because every one knows that.. In closing, CA Anti-Virus 2009 has been a great software and its very user-friendly and I would recommend this to anyone that wants to buy an antivirus software. If you’re looking for an antivirus software, you can try out CA Anti-Virus 2009. Computer Associate provides a trial version (expires in 90 days) for this anti-virus software and I did mention it before at the starting point. The price of this software is: $39.99 for a 1 year protection for 3 computers and I would like to include that CA Antivirus 2009 is certified by independent testing organizations, and they are Virus Bulletin, ICSA Labs, and West Coast Labs. Here is the link to Computer Associates’ Antivirus 2009: CA Antivirus 2009. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and check back for more interesting topics. Thank you and God bless! A Living Sacrifice to God – Romans 12 by Ryan Agee on Jun.25, 2009, under The Gospel 1 And so, dear brothers and sisters,s I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.s2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. 3 Because of the privilege and authoritys God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.s4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function,5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. 6 In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.7 If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.8 If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. 9 Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.10 Love each other with genuine affection,s and take delight in honoring each other.11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.s12 Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.13 When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.15 Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! 17 Never pay back evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.18 Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. 19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,”s says the Lord . 20 Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.”s 21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. —– This is what I like about this scripture. This shows a perfect example that we can follow in Jesus Christ’s foot steps. We all know that Jesus Christ knew we’re not perfect but he’s the only one that we know, is perfect in our everyday lifetime. We should not curse the non-believers though we should pray for them for God shall bless them all. I am the ‘encouraging others’. My gift is to encourage those who do not know Jesus Christ and those who wants to seek him shall be saved from condemnation of Hell. I know many people who do not understand about salvation. Even though, salvation is the key to Heaven. Its not like saving you from a fire or a a mugging in process. Its about saving your soul, your spirit, your body from condemnation of Hell. You see this: For God so loved the World that He gave his One and Only begotten Son. Is that whoever believes in him will not be perished but have everlasting life. God did not send his Son, his only begotten Son to not condemn the world but to SAVE the world from condemnation of Hell. This is through the chapter of John 3:16. I would continue to pray to all living souls whom are lost, whom has not know Jesus or are afraid of salvation. Do not be afraid of Jesus, do not be afriad of God, do not be afraid of Salvation. Remember this: Jesus Christ was sent to this world not to condemn the world but to save the world through his blood, on the Cross, he died for you. Dear Father, I pray for those people whom are lost, whom are struggling, whom are in trouble. You know Father, that Your son had come to the world to save the world, not comdemn it. I thank Jesus Christ for dying for us with his blood and defeating death on the third day. I thank Jesus Christ for forgiving and taking our sins for we are blessed with grace. I pray for those people to know him well and accept him in to their hearts and pronounce with their voice that Jesus is Lord and Savior, they all be saved. Thank you in Jesus’ name, Amen! Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range. Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. To encourage the killing, she even proposed a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf! We have to get the word out about this! TEN COMMANDMENTS. … FIRST AND SECOND COMMANDMENT. by Ryan Agee on Jun.19, 2009, under The Gospel TEN COMMANDMENTS. … FIRST AND SECOND COMMANDMENT. … You shall be given the guiding principles by which you should live on earth and fulfil My will: You always have to keep My Commandments of love in mind and then you will never be able to sin, because a life of love is at all times a life within My eternal order and then it is impossible to sin. My Commandment of love towards God and your neighbour incorporated the laws and the prophets, hence the Ten Commandments given to Moses were not eliminated by My Commandments of love but merely confirmed. The Ten Commandments were integrated at the same time in My Two Commandments, wherein I required love for Me and your neighbour. You shall give all your love only to one God, thus only one Being should represent to you what you wholeheartedly aspire to, what you love and worship, what you strive to reach. Nothing shall exist to you that could replace or displace this most perfect Being, your God, because all else a person still deems desirable are gods which reduce the love for your God and therefore cannot be tolerated beside Me. Your love shall fully and completely relate to Me, your God, Creator and Father of eternity. Because as a result of this love your conduct in life, your will and your knowledge will be shaped. Anyone who loves Me more than anything else has gained everything, Me Myself, My love and eternal life close to Me. This commandment is the first commandment, nevertheless it also includes the second commandment, love for your neighbour. Because the love for what I created is also an acknowledgment of love for Me, and therefore both commandments are not to be separated from each other. So that you will learn to believe firmly and steadfastly you shall sense My nearness and feel that I Myself Am speaking to you and take notice of all your thoughts and requests, even if they are not voiced. I will always share your inner life, I will know your questions and always will want to answer them just as soon as you give Me the opportunity, i.e. as soon as you mentally present the question to Me and patiently wait for the answer. You will always receive the reply as soon as you attune yourselves to receive it, thus by listening within yourselves, from where the answer will emerge. And thus hear the explanation of the commandment: Second Commandment. You shall not take the name of your Lord in vain. I Am and remain the highest and most perfect Being for you, Whom you nevertheless can contact at any time. I want you to unite with Me, to strive for unity with Me; I want you to call for Me because by doing so you inform Me of your will; I want you never to exclude Me from your thoughts, I want to be the First and the Last to you, I want you to share with Me everything that moves you, I want you to come to Me for advice and completely confide in Me, and humbly submit to My will. But I do not want you to take My name in vain without the involvement of your heart…. I do not want you to live a life of pretence, I do not want you to appear to the world as My children who are sincerely devoted to their Father and in reality are very distant from Me. I do not want you to speak My name before the world and make the connection with Me absolutely impossible due to your attitude, due to your conduct which does not correspond to My will but which remains hidden from other people because you are constantly using My name in order to deceive them. You are using My name in vain when your heart and mouth do not agree with each other, when your mouth speaks differently than your heart feels. Then it is truly better for you to openly turn away from Me, because then you would lack all knowledge, whereas by mentioning My name you are admitting to know Me although you still dislike Me in your heart. You don’t mislead Me but you certainly mislead your fellow human beings, and thus you are playing a game of falsehood and deceit with Me. You should become conscious of the fact that the deceptive mentioning of your God’s name will double your sin, that you are more or less using Me as a cover for your wrong way of life, that you want to cause confusion amongst those who still believe and to whom I Am the highest and most perfect Being. I should punish you for every call to Me and every mentioning of My name from your mouth but I acknowledge your free will and put up with your sacrilege which, however, at times makes the believers wonder and doubt their faith. Therefore every mentioning of My name without sincerity is a temptation for the believer for which I will hold you to account one day. It is belittling Me, Whom you do not acknowledge and yet use to veil your true nature, Whom you thus try to turn into an accessory otherwise you would openly turn away from Me and not try to conceal your way of life. The deceptive mentioning of My name is a lie which will avenge itself badly when all sin will be revealed one day, it is a flagrant violation of the commandment of love for God and the next person.
